Traveling to Florida!

Oh hey from Florida! We are having a blast relaxing in the sunshine state! I'm going to keep this recap of our trip simple and organize it day by day so I can share as many pictures as possible and keep it easy for me to update!

On Monday we left for the airport around 2pm. Here we are leaving the house:

Lots of selfies as we arrived at the airport...

and on the plane!

There was a beautiful sunset as we landed but of course we were on the wrong side of the plane for the REALLY beautiful part.

We stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham Convention Center in Orlando for our first two nights here. Our hotel was super close to Universal Studios (our first destination) and was very nice!

So nice! I loved how our bedroom was separate and there was a living room section too. It was really nice and pretty cheap!

This was my travel outfit: a comfy sweater from Old Navy and American Eagle jeans. I also wore my Born boots from Nordstrom which are so comfortable.

We went to dinner at TGI Fridays which was right down the road from our hotel, almost directly across the street from Universal Studios.

The Garlic Parmesan Boneless Chicken Wings were delicious!

I ordered the Sizzlin' Chicken and Cheese which I regularly order from TGI Fridays. It's so yummy I highly recommend it!

Tim ordered the Bourbon Barrel Chicken and only had high praise for his meal too! It was a great dinner!

We headed back to our hotel and got ready for bed because we had a busy day planned the next day!

Pre- Vacation Weekend

Happy Monday loves! It is a happy Monday around here because I am not at work and we are getting ready to leave for FLORIDA in just a few short hours. Right now I'm waiting for our sheets to dry so I can make our bed and when we come home it will be clean and ready for us.

Since I'm overly excited and in the mood to blog I thought I would share this past weekend with you.

On Friday I received this picture of my favorite guy! He had just gone for a haircut and I was demanding pictures. :-p

Later that night we went to the 99 Restaurant in Westerly and both devoured French Onion Soups. The above picture is my entree which is Macademia Crusted Chicken. This meal is delicious and mixed with the rice and asparagus it is my favorite item on the 99 Restaurant menu- if you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it!

Saturday morning and I've got my favorite boy in my kitchen cooking me eggs, how did I get so lucky?!

On Saturday I also headed to the movies with Brittni and Stephen to see Allegiant, the newest Divergent movie. It was their first time away from Emma so I crashed their date and saw the movie with them. It was a pretty good movie but very different from the book! I couldn't believe all the changes that were made and I'm tempted to re-read the book to see if I can pick up any others.

Purchased this cool item over the weekend. I will be reviewing it here on the blog soon. It's a way to get that beautiful twist hairstyle that everyone is sporting lately. I have a hard time because my hair is so thick getting it to look right so I was hoping this little tool might do the trick.

I spent most of Saturday night packing. I may have overpacked but I'm always afraid I won't have enough!

Sunday was pretty laid back. We took a trip to Marshalls, Olympia Sports, and a few other stores to pick up last minute items. Then for dinner we made home made pizza! Well....Tim made homemade pizza and I played supervisor. I'm really good at my job ;)

Super yummy! Notice my side is mostly sauce with a little cheese and Tim's side has bacon and pepperoni. It's nice to be able to have your pizza exactly how you want it!

I'm not sure how much you'll hear from me this week but I will try to pop in! Enjoy the snow Rhode Island- see ya later!

March Birchbox

Happy Sunday everyone!

I'm off to Florida tomorrow afternoon and was just cleaning up my photos on the old Macbook to have room for alllllllll the pictures I plan on taking while away and I realized I never shared my March Birchbox!

I love looking in my box and seeing all the fun products inside!

This Cargo eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous. This is from the Land Down Under palette and I love the light pink and sparkly brown that came in my box. The pigmentation is great and I will definitely be using this beauty!

I haven't tried these Wilma Schummann hydrating collagen eye pads but I think that they would be amazing to revitalize the area beneath my eyes. I tend to get puffy and have dark circles and if this helps then that would be amazing.

I'm not a huge face product girl. I don't like caking makeup on my skin and tend to stick with mostly eye products however I do like that BB creams are a bit lighter then foundation. This Marcelle BB cream will be something I'll definitely try.

I think I may have received Amika perk up dry shampoo in the past and although I don't use dry shampoo too often I definitely like to have it around.

This will be a staple this week in Florida! I love Coola sunscreen even though it's super expensive. I don't actually purchase it, but whenever I receive it in my Birchbox I always use it on my face! It was a nice surprise to see this inside my box this month!

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?

Organizing Cords and Electronics

When Tim and I moved in together suddenly my electronics basket changed from just my few electronic cords to twice the amount in about five seconds. Everything was just tossed into the basket and the pig pile was more then I could take.

I mentioned to Tim that I was planning on organizing our electronic cords and his response was, "I know what my cords look like. You don't need to do that."

Boys. *Sigh*

First step: Pull everything out of the basket and sort everything on the floor. AKA make a mess.

A big mess. But that's okay, because soon everything will be beautiful, labeled, and organized.

I took each cord and put it in an individual ziplock baggy. I placed a label on each one so it would be clear what the cord was for and who it belonged to. No cord stealers allowed here.

Here's a great example. Apple cords all look similar but my iPod and iPhone have different cords. Can be confusing if you grab one instead of the other by accident and very unfortunate if you actually need it to charge something. Now I know that if I grab this baggie I am getting my iPod charger and nothing else.

I love my label maker by the way. This is a new one I purchased from Dymo. I love the size of it compared to other label makers I have owned in the past.

Another one of my favorite parts of this project is this little container I filled with tools and batteries. Keeping things simple around here.

Not beautiful, but here is the final product!

I enjoyed how easy this project was and how simple I kept it. I don't need every organization project to look beautiful, it just has to work!

What have you organized lately?

Life Lately: March 2016 Edition

Hello loves! We are in lovely, lovely March. Well, this year it's quite lovely here in Rhode Island- usually we have a bit of a colder month around here but the last few weeks have been absolutely beautiful and I'm loving every minute of it.

Last weekend Tim and I took a walk on a little local beach and it was the most beautiful day. I love getting the chance to walk around outside and spend time with my best friend!

Last week I also was able to spend some time with my favorite baby.  I got to cuddle sweet Emma for a couple hours after work one night.

She just curled right up on me and made her way down to rest on my stomach. Such a little sweetheart.

Unfortunately this past weekend my butt has been totally kicked by a bad cough.

But that didn't stop a 5th birthday celebration!

Callan (Tim's nephew) definitely enjoyed his cake and lunch with his whole family!

As for what's next? Tim and I are off to Florida next week! I can't wait to visit the Sunshine State and see my parents after such a long time! Until then...of course there will be work!

Have a great day everybody!

My Decor Style

Since I was young my decor style has always been simple. I don't like rooms that are overwhelming, filled with too many things, or follows a particular style. I have never been one to follow a style, although if I was forced to pick one that I follow the closest I would call it simple and beachy.

Recently at Kohls I picked up this pretty sign.

Isn't it gorgeous? I love the colors and distressed look of it.

I had the perfect place to display it too.

Doesn't that look amazing?! I was so excited with the difference in the look of this area. I think changing out the picture frame for this sign made a huge difference in the feel of my bedroom

I figured that while I was showing you one beachy area, I may as well show you all my beachy areas!

Yes I am a little obsessed with all things beach. No I would never call it "nautical" partially because I hate that term and also because there is nothing that involves boats in my decor. I simply love the vastness of the beach and ocean and feel that having it represented in my room brings me the calmness that I think is perfect for a bedroom!

What is your decor style?
