Paco's Tacos, Proclamation Ale Company and Iron Works Tavern

I love exploring new places and areas in my home state of Rhode Island. Despite being the smallest state with the longest name we have so many places to explore.  I had previously been to Proclamation Ale Company when it was located in Wakefield but hadn't been to their new facility yet.

Located right outside was Paco's Tacos food truck. Tim and I both opted for tacos and they were delicious!

I love chicken tacos and this one was great- I would highly recommend grabbing a taco from Paco's Tacos. Food trucks are such a great invention aren't they?

Proclamation Ale Company is in a huge building with arcade games to play, beer to drink and tables to sit at. If you've been reading for awhile you know that I'm not a beer drinker and only go along for the social aspect. I was with Tim, Derek and Ally and all of them loved the beer that they had so you can take that as a solid recommendation to visit and have a beer here!

After beer and tacos we headed out for a real dinner down the road at Iron Works Tavern. This is a really cool building and the food was excellent! We all enjoyed our food and had a terrific time chatting and hanging out.

My macaroni and cheese was great! If you are ever in Warwick, RI you definitely need to stop in and try it!

Have you ever been to Rhode Island and eaten here? I have a ton of recommendations on my Rhode Island page. Check it out here!

Life Lately: Hiking, Ring Sizing and Birthday Celebrations

Happy Monday everyone!

We were super busy this weekend- it all started with hiking adventures after work on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday we headed to the gym but once we were in the parking lot it was clear that it was packed. Not wanting to have to fight for weights we decided to go for a hike at nearby Goddard Park instead!

It was a little chilly but we had a gorgeous walk along the water and it was nice to spend some time chatting with my favorite guy.

On Friday we decided to not even try the gym and go for a hike since it was so beautiful out.

Our first hike was to explore the Davis Memorial Wildlife Refuge which was a short hike and only took us about 15 minutes so Tim suggested we head to Rome Point- a trail that leads to the beach and I was in!

What a cool shell right? We never find anything like that around Rhode Island. It was so cool how the whole beach was covered in shells.

There were so many little trails along the way and so much so see. It's definitely a trail you could go back to and do different every time. I called it a choose your own adventure trail.

We also found this old car in the woods. It was so random but a cool discovery.

On Saturday morning we headed to Stonington CT to get my ring resized. I had planned on sending it back to James Allen but didn't like the idea of being away from my ring for two weeks. My friend Kirstin's older sister Jen works at Simply Majestic in Stonington and she said they could do it same day for me!

My hand was so lonely without my ring but within and hour and a half I had it back on my hand.

And it was super clean and shiny!

On Saturday night we had plans to brewery hop for Derek's birthday so we headed up to Foolproof in Pawtucket, RI where I ran into Jess who I haven't seen in forever!

It was so funny to bump into her so randomly but it was great to see her!

Derek got a t-shirt from Ally's sister with Drake on it. It was hilarious and he continued to wear it the rest of the night!

Next we headed to Long Live in Providence which I didn't take any pictures of but we mostly hung outside while we were there.

Finally we drove into Downtown Providence to go to Trinity Brewhouse for our 7pm dinner reservation! It was such a fun time hanging out with everyone.

The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! After spending time talking with everyone, eating dinner and having a couple of drinks we decided to head closer to home.

We stopped at The Safehouse in East Greenwich and hung out awhile longer before eventually heading home.

On Sunday we had a special birthday party to attend.

Callan turned 7 this month and we celebrated with a bowling party!

I was having a good bowling day!

Callan got really good at bowling and ended up getting his first strike!

We had three lanes and our group had a ton of fun as well bowled, chatted and ate.

Callan was wiped out by the end of the party!

We had a great time and were ready to have a restful ending to our weekend by hanging out couch together.

How was your weekend?!

Life Lately

Today I'm sharing some photos of life lately! Life is good around here and we've been keeping busy.

Occasionally I get to have lunch with this little lady! Emma joins us for lunch during work every once in awhile and seeing her just makes my day. She is hilarious and takes my mind off of whatever is happening in my office!

My college roommates Megan and Laura visited and we were able to enjoy drinks, dinner and bowling which was a blast. It's always great to see my two college best friends!

Last weekend we went on a brewery tour on Saturday which started at The Tilted Barn Brewery in Exeter. I don't drink beer because I don't care for the taste of it but I went along for the fun!

Although I can't judge based on the taste of the beer I can tell you that the place was packed! This brewery is a barn that a local man decided to turn into a brewery. The inside is pretty small and was extremely packed but there is a loft upstairs that is fun to hang out in. Tim just piped in that he had the porter at this brewery and thought it was delicious.

Since it's so small inside there tends to be a line to get in. I recommend going on day where it isn't freezing so you don't have to turn into an icicle while you wait to get in!

Proclamation Brewery was our second stop and far less crowded but no less obscure. This one is located in Kingston and was in a warehouse which was super strange but they did a great job at making it feel like you were in a small bar in a city. Tim also tried a porter at this stop and said it was also delicious. I just enjoyed the atmosphere and company! I have to say that this was my least favorite of the four places we visited, but it was worth a visit!

Our third stop was Sons of Liberty in Wakefield which was the only place I drank because they also brew whiskey!  I had a coffee flavored whiskey drink which was delicious. In addition to drinking there are a ton of games set up to play including pool, darts, foosball, and corn hole. There was so much to do and they had a band setting up as well. There are flights of whiskey and beer offered too which is great if you want to sample a bit of everything. I think this may have been my favorite stop of the day!

After hanging around there for a few hours we made our final stop of our brewery tour located in Wakefield....

Whalers Brewery was also very cool and set up with lots of games to play including huge Jenga set. They only have beer here but the atmosphere was awesome. I would definitely go back here in the future. The inside was huge which means there is a lot of room to hang out.

Overall it was an awesome day and I'm so glad I got to see all these new places in my home state!

We also babysat sick Emma one day lately. She was so tired and feverish she just cuddled us the entire day. I felt bad for her since she was sick but soaked in all the cuddle time I could.

Lok at those rosy cheeks! Such a sweet little girl!

I also was able to have dinner lately with this little sweetie and her mom! Rachel and Tilly passed by to visit and have dinner at Applebees. I can't believe she's already been alive for almost two months! Time is flying by...

That is what has been happening in my life lately, thanks for coming along!
