New Bedroom: Part 2

Today I thought I would share another area of my new bedroom...My Stockpile Closet!

I have been couponing for about two years now and I love having a nice stockpile so I don't have to pay top dollar for personal care items, paper goods, etc. I am a huge fan of couponing and am so glad I have a nice place to store everything now!

The closet itself goes back pretty far so there is a ton of room to grow!

In the way back on the top shelf I have a small canvas tote full of hand soaps. Next to it is my stockpile of mouthwash, then some smaller containers filled with sunscreen, soaps, and bath products.

The big canvas tote on the top shelf holds all my body washes and scrubs. These are so easy to get for free and cheap!

Moving down to the second shelf. The first bin is filled with hair products. I have shampoos, conditioners, hairsprays, dry shampoo, etc in this bin.

The next bin is filled with dental products. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are something I only buy on deals where they are free or almost free.

I love this bin and I'm sure you can see why. I'm a little obsessed with lotion =) I have a ton of free samples and many full size containers waiting to be used. Why pay for lotion when I have this much backup?

I keep ziploc bags and cleaning products towards the back of this shelf.

The bottom shelf holds computer paper, some bottles of alcohol, and laundry items.

Then  a bin of razors and shave cream. I am running low in this section so I will have to start looking for more deals!

This big bin houses my candles and fragrance sprays. I love Bath and Body Works candles but only buy them when they are on sale and I have a coupon!

Below the shelves I have all my paper products. Paper towels, toilet paper, tissues and a few reams of copy paper live down here.

I love stockpiling products such as these because they have such a long shelf life. If I'm able to stock up at a time when the items are cheap- it is great to have a place to store them until I need them!

Do you have a stockpile?

November Birchbox

My Birchbox arrived over the weekend and I think this might be the best Birchbox I've received yet!

The Make eye makeup remover seems like a great makeup remover and is something I will definitely use since I need to take my makeup off everyday anyways!

I received the Harvey Prince Hello Shampoo and Conditioner. This is a citrus scented hair line and I absolutely loved the last Harvey Prince product I tried, so I'm excited to try these as well.

I love getting mascaras to try because it is something I will definitely use right away. This Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24hr mascara looks very different in shape and the wand is different then I normally use as well. It should be interesting to try!

Not Soap, Radio is not a brand I've heard of before but I'm always game to try a new shower gel like this this Joy Inducing Body Wash.

This chocolate sounds interesting by Chuao...it's definitely something I've never heard of before!

What did you receive in your Birchbox this month?

New Bedroom: Part 1

Happy Monday!

Another week has begun and things are busy around these parts! I had an awesome weekend and spent a ton of time with friends which was great, but now my to-do list has only grown! I also have a huge list of blog posts to write, and I want to get back into couponing since I've been majorly slacking in both areas lately.

Today I thought I would share with you a small section of my bedroom and I will continue to share sections until I've shared everything. Then we will move onto other areas of the house as they are finished. There are still so many projects going on around here and so much to share!

The first part of my room I'm sharing is my closet!

There are two sides to my closet... when you enter the right side...

I have long dresses hanging on high rod in the center of the closet. This was my dad's idea since the other rod is so low, this way I am able to hang dresses, skirts and potentially even pants so they aren't brushing along the floor.

I keep all my shirts organized by sleeve length and then color within each sleeve length. I placed them in the opposite direction of my old closet.  Tank tops, short sleeves, long sleeved, sweaters, sweatshirts and jackets.

I love looking at a nicely organized closet!

Above my shirts I have all flat shoes- water shoes, flip-flops, sandals and flats.

The shelving on the side of my closet holds my high heels, sneakers, clogs, and boots.

The bottom shelf holds all my accessories. Then underneath the shelving I have extra hangers and my suitcase.

Here's a closer look of what is inside each bin.

The first bin holds hats, gloves, umbrellas, and belts.

My favorite bin holds scarves. These are my favorite accessories =)

The next bin holds bathing suits. I really weeded these out last year- I think I might need a new one this year!

The last bin holds extra bags. I have tote bags, cross body bags, laptop cases, etc.. I also have a few bags behind this bin that wouldn't fit inside (backpacks, larger bags, etc..)

On the other side of my closet is my dresser, craft cart and all my beauty supplies. I am hoping to purchase something to hold all my beauty products in soon- which I will update you with in the future! My dresser holds (from top to bottom) underwear and bras, socks, jeans and pants, shorts, and workout clothes/pajamas.

There are few updates that I will be making in the future but I really like how I've simplified my closet. I have reduced the amount of clothing I have and it has made a huge difference!

See that little doorway on the left? That will be the next section of this series...my stockpile closet! =)

Have a great day!

Day 307, Of course I had to cheer on my Patriots! (And watch Peyton Manning sulk...)

Day 308, I love my new Martha Stewart wall organizer!

Day 309 I love dark nails for fall! This is a shiny, gray Color Club polish.

Day 310 we had a pretty successful night at trivia last night! We tied for third but lost in a tie breaker! We still did a pretty decent job and had some great guesses.

October Birchbox Review

I've officially been a loyal Birchbox subscriber for two years! I love receiving this little boxes in my mail box and I especially love trying all the new samples and learning about new beauty products.

This month I had a great mix of products and I enjoyed sampling all of them.

The card on top truly describes my feeling about beauty products perfectly. I am obsessed with trying new products and my obsession has only gotten worse as I've received products for free through couponing (which I need to get back into ASAP)

The Pore-fessional by Benefit is something I've been waiting to try for a long time. However, I think that this was the cause of me breaking out. I used this around my nose and within a day of using it I started breaking out. Not so fun! I will try it again, but I'm pretty sure this is the product that did me in.

As I mentioned in my previous post where I opened my box, I love the name of this product. Dr Brandt's vacuum cleaner I tried last week after I started breaking out. The product hardens on your skin and turns blue. I washed it off in the shower and thought it was great because my skin felt refreshed but not dried out at all.

I have used quite a few dry shampoos and I found this Amika one to be pretty equivalent to the others I've tried. I like this product because when my hair was on its second day I felt that it was getting clean from spraying this on and there was no white powder that appears when you use some dry shampoos. I also love how dry shampoo seems to last me forever and these little bottles are great since I get to try all different kinds!

Okay this Lord and Berry sparkly eyeliner is a great idea in theory but when you get sparkles inside your eyes it doesn't seem like such a great idea anymore! I had a hard time getting it on my eyelid as well because I'm not great with pencil liner. I will continue to use this on special occasions but it definitely is not my go-to liner!

I wasn't a huge fan of the Ellovi butter because it is pretty much, butter. I thought it would be more of a creamy lotion but it's a hard substance that melts when you put it on. I find it hard to apply and it just makes me feel pretty greasy. I might try just using it on my feet before bed so I can soften up calluses but it won't make me feel too greasy if it's just on my feet.

What products have you been trying out lately?

Card Organizers, Wall Organizers, and Shell Jars... Oh My!

I made a few improvements over the weekend to the organization in my bedroom. It was so rainy this weekend that I spent the majority of time working on getting things organized. I think my living space will always be a work in progress =)

First ump organizing all my greeting cards. Previously my greeting cards were organized like this:

It wasn't the best organization in the world but it worked for awhile until I purchased so many cards that they couldn't fit inside anymore. Plus it wasn't the sturdiest organization tool.

I've been eyeing this baby for awhile on Amazon:

Isn't it beautiful?! This is the IRIS Greeting Card Organizer which you can find here.

I will be labeling each section soon but I want to see what makes sense to keep in each section before I get it labeled.

Next up: Shells.

I love picking up various shells when I walk on the beach and always take home a ton of treasures. The problem was it was getting out of hand.

I purchased this huge vase from the Christmas Tree Shop and thought it would fit my shells perfectly. It would still allow me to display them nicely but they would no longer be taking up an extreme amount of shelf space.

I mean it was getting a little out of hand. I gathered all my shell jars together and carefully dumped them into the new vase.

And voila!

Simple, beautiful and a lot less shelf space being used!

Last but not least the first thing to get hung on the wall is my Martha Stewart wall organizer.

I will be organizing ingoing and outgoing papers inside this container. There will be some definite improvements by using this to organize my "current" paperwork.

What have you been doing around your house to organize and decorate?
