Life Lately

Happy Monday party people!

It is a happy Monday for this girl because I don't have to work on Friday which makes this a lovely four day week! Lately I have been having a ton of fun, spending time in the beautiful summer weather and of course working. I thought on this Monday I would share a little bit about my life lately.

A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend Tim and I headed to Mystic Aquarium for an afternoon of visiting some sea creatures! We had a blast walking around checking out each exhibit.

There was even a seriously crazy penguin that hid in a cave and chased other penguins when they came anywhere near him. It was amusing to watch and we got to see quite a few demonstrations while hanging out near the exhibits. We watched the penguins get fed as well as the beluga whales participate in play time.

I had such a fun day and we topped it off with a walk around Mystic Village and dinner at Steak Loft (if you're ever in Mystic CT you must have a meal there!).

Another weekend adventure we took was to Jamestown for a walk around Beavertail State Park. It was a beautiful day for a hike around the rock-filled coast. The sights were breathtaking and it was so much fun to spend the day exploring.

We also stopped by Forth Wetherill in Jamestown, a place I had never heard of before. This was an actual fort which was a little creepy, but the graffiti everywhere made it amazing. There were tons of tunnels to explore which I was too afraid to go inside, but there were staircases to climb and lots of interesting sayings to read along the way.

The coastline nearby was also amazing!

There has also been a ton of progress on the addition...

Those are just a couple of pictures I snapped recently. It's so exciting to see progress!

Last week was Brittni's 27th birthday and we celebrated in style at work...

It was a fun day at work with tons of food, presents and of course minions.

This past weekend I attended a baby shower for one of my lovely co-workers Magda and her boyfriend Jonathan. The two of them are expecting a little boy, Oliver in August. The shower was held at Brittni's family property where her wedding took place back in October. It was a beautiful yellow and gray themed shower.

The wedding predictions board was a fun activity and I enjoyed that they didn't spend time opening gifts at the shower. It was just a fun barbecue with lawn games set up, and allowed everyone to spend time with Magda and Jonathan as we enjoyed delicious food.

On Sunday when I arrived home, I found new floors in the kitchen! They are going to be completed tomorrow and I will share an after picture but I have to say that I absolutely love the wood floors in the kitchen. So much nicer then tile!

Finally, here is my little girl cuddled up next to her momma as I type up this post. She's such a snuggle bug!

So that's my life lately, what have you been up to lately?

Project 365: Week 19

This week on Project 365....

On day 128 this little (big) baby arrived, which you can see in this blog post. I put the entire thing together all by myself, which I was so proud of. I will be sharing my update with what I store on this shelving unit once my new baskets come in. (Yes! I ordered some!)

Day 129 was a rough week at work so I was thrilled to go out for Chinese on Friday night with two of my work besties. It's always nice to have a girls night out =)

Day 130 started off early with the 3rd annual Rainbow Race. I have completed this race the past two years and plan to participate every year for the foreseeable future. You can see my past posts on the Rainbow Race here and here. This year I walked the 5K with my mom which was a great, relaxing walk. It's so nice to be able to get some exercise and chat outside in the beautiful weather!

Day 131 was Mother's Day and I was so unbelievably lucky to spend it with my mom who is the best mom in the universe. Everyone seems to think that their moms are the best, but really- it's my mom =)

Day 132 I shared a picture of my music for recital. I'm so proud of my level one kids this year. They have come SO far this year and I couldn't be more proud of them. I can't wait to see them perform their dances!

Day 133 was a day that I spent my down time reading. The book I read (which I will post about soon) was one that made me cried so it was necessary to cuddle with my favorite pup =)

Day 134 I had a secret meeting...which I can't share- sorry! =)

How was your week?!

Pet Food and Treat Organization

Good morning everyone, I thought today I would share with you a small organization project for a special friend in my life.

Remember this little girl?! Yes, this is sweet Roxy in case you're new and haven't been previously introduced. This girl has a lot of stuff. Our home is overflowing with toys and treats for this little lady. There are a couple of drawers in our kitchen dedicated to her food and treats which were getting a little out of control so I thought I would take a couple of minutes to get things organized.

This is what our cupboard for Roxy looks like. You open the doors and there are two drawers inside.

As you can see, things were completely out of control. There was food everywhere, treats no longer in bags, and everything else was just tossed in carelessly. I took everything out of the drawers and laid it on top of the counter. I sorted all the items into food, treats, bowls, clothes, and leashes.

I ended up finding a few bags of treats that only had one or two treats inside which meant those bags could be thrown away and Roxy got a few extra treats while I worked.

Now, here is the final product.

Looks so much better right?! I love when I can do a small organization project but it changes so much so quickly. It truly makes me feel just a little bit better when I can control something, even if it's as simple as cleaning out a small area.

What have you organized this week?
