Presidents Day Lunch Date, New House Purchases and New Boots!

Having a three day weekend is the best. I love having that extra day to just relax!

Lucky for me Tim works nights so I was able to enjoy hanging out with him for most of the day! After spending the ENTIRE morning sleeping in (whoops) we ventured out for a low key lunch date and a quick Walmart trip.

Jeans: American Eagle// Boots: Wet Seal

I tried a new Applebees dish minus the gravy that was offered as a topping. This is the Crispy Brewhouse Chicken and I love the onion rings, mashed potatoes, and chicken combined! Tim has had it with the gravy before and said it has a beer flavor so I probably wouldn't enjoy it, but he liked it with the gravy.

Tim enjoyed boneless buffalo wings, nachos and a plate of fries (unpictured).

It was a lovely lunch date!

Obsessed with this catch-all tray from this months Pop Sugar Must Have Box. I obsess over it every time I see it.

So we've been buying a few items for our new place. We are moving out in May and I recently purchased a shower curtain and shower curtain liner at Walmart. Then this weekend I went to Kohls and bought all new towels and bathroom mat. I love the pattern and gray color I chose and Tim seemed to like it too!

Also I'm obsessed with my new boots! Thanks to Sam over at Simply Organized for mentioning them. I had to order them. And now I own them. And I will wear them everyday. Obsessed.

Have a great night!

Valentines Day Weekend

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day weekend! We kicked things off around here on Friday as soon as I got out of work.

I came home to a beautiful rose and two sweet cards. I gave Tim his lottery bouquet and some candy with a card. Then we took off to head out for our Valentines dinner!

We ended up going to Marchetti's in Cranston, RI which I had never heard of but I'm so thankful that Tim suggested it because it was amazing! We waited for an hour and a half which was a bit of a long wait and learned that reservations are 100% the way to go if you want to have dinner within an hour of entering the restaurant!

Once we sat down we were given bread with oil for dipping and a huge garden salad. We placed our orders and quickly filled up on bread and salad while we waited. I chose a penne vodka dish and Tim chose Chicken Siciliano. Both of us loved our dishes and loved that we had extra to take home as leftovers! The prices were very reasonable as well and I would highly recommend Marchetti's as a great place to visit if you are in the area!

On Saturday Tim had to work so I spent the majority of the day running errands and getting things done. I spent some time at the mall and Kohls picking up items we will need when we move out of here in May. Then I got ready because once Tim got out of work we planned on heading to the casino.

We met up with Tim's former roommate and few of their friends and spent some time in Shrine the club in Foxwoods casino. I am not a huge fan of clubbing, never have been but I did actually have a good time. I thoroughly enjoy people watching! We walked around a little bit after leaving the club, had dinner in the food court and walked through the new indoor outlets. I desperately want to go back to the outlets during the day and do some serious shopping!

On Valentines Day (Sunday) we spent a glorious morning sleeping in! Once we finally woke up and got going it was lunch time so we headed out to grab coffee and then made our way to the Mews Tavern (the spot of our first date and a place we frequent!).

We both had french onion soup and then I ate part of a pink panther calzone, and Tim ate a few slices of a chicken parm pizza. Another meal with leftovers!
After lunch we visited Tim's parents for a few minutes before heading home to relax before he had to work.

Lucky for me I also have today (Presidents Day) off from work so it was a nice three day weekend over here! I enjoyed every second of Valentines Day weekend and hope you did too!

For The Love Of Cardigans!

Anyone else out there obsessed with cardigans like me?!

95% of my outfits have some sort of cardigan involved. I find them easy to wear to work and often pair them with a tanktop or t-shirt that would be too casual for work.

I wear them while out with friends, out on date nights and on days just doing errands.

I wear them in all colors, but love a good neutral cardigan so it matches everything.

Cardigans for the win! I find that they are my most worn item in my closet and investing in them never hurts. I wear them until they are completely worn out. If you would like specific information on each one pictured above I would be glad to share, just let me know!

Have a great day!

Winter Beauty and Fashion Haul

I have been doing a little bit of shopping this month- despite my budget. There were such great after-Christmas sales and I couldn't resist getting a few new items for my wardrobe and some new beauty products as well!

At Victoria's Secret I purchased two new bras that were on super sale. Then I decided to purchase my favorite scent from Victoria's Secret PINK Warm and Cozy. I used an entire spray a couple of years ago and knew that someday I would be repurchasing it and when I saw this small size I knew that even though I have more perfumes and body sprays then I could ever finish- I wanted this scent back in my life!

I picked up a few items at the Bath and Body Works semi-annual sale. I knew this was the perfect time to grab a few items I had been eyeing...at 75% off how could I not?!

I picked up a full size lotion in Vanilla Coconut as well as a full size body spray in the same scent. I also picked up two small body sprays in the scents Amber Blush and Oahu Coconut Sunset.
I also picked up a small Love shower gel and a medium sized candle in South Beach Sun.

I know I have an abundance of beauty products- but I can't wait to try these out!

I stopped quickly at CVS and grabbed two Burts Bees chapsticks, NYX Le Chik Flik mascara (to replace the one I just finished) and a Kardashian nail polish.

I've been dying to try out the Kardashian nail polish and makeup products since I saw them. So within a few hours my nails looked like this...

I have to say that I wasn't impressed. The formula wasn't great and it was a very watery nail polish. Once I managed to get my nails painted I had to clean them up which was frustrating. I do have to say that the nail polish stayed in place for a few days without chipping, but I don't think that it was truly worth it for the mess it made on my nails while painting them.

The two clothing items I picked up are a new workout shirt and a sweater. The workout shirt was something I've been eyeing for some time and when I saw this version in JCPenney's knew I needed it! I love the movie Beauty and the Beast so I am excited to wear this to the gym!

The sweater is a simple black open sweater in the front, but the back has a really cool design and will look awesome with different color tank tops underneath. Since clothes are a bit difficult to photograph when they are off the body- I will make sure I share pictures in the future when I'm wearing these items!

That's all I've picked up this month...

Have you done any shopping lately? Did you pick up any new beauty products or clothes?

New Purse (and what I keep in my purse)

I have always been known by my friends to carry a Mary Poppins bag. I love a huge bag that I can just shove my life into and have everything I need anytime, anywhere!

On Wednesday, I bought a brand new designer bag which was a HUGE splurge for me!

Isn't it beautiful!

Since I was switching items out of one purse and into a new one, I dumped everything out and wanted to share what I keep in my purse. I know it seems like a lot- but I swear everything is in there for a reason!

  1. Wallet
  2. Glasses
  3. Keys
  4. Hairbrush
  5. Planner
  6. Tylenol
  7. Granola bars
  8. Medicine
  9. Chapstick
  10. Phone Charger
  11. Lotion
  12. Hand sanitizer
  13. iPod
  14. iPhone
  15. Sunglasses
  16. Headphones
  17. Elastics & Bobbypins
  18. Pens
I managed to find a way to organize it all in my new purse, and am thrilled to have so many inside pockets!

What do you keep in your purse? What purse are you currently carrying?!

Shopping Spree and some Fall Fashion

This weekend I was able to do a little retail therapy with my best friend from college and former roommate Megan.

It was so nice to spend some time hanging out and catching up. I hadn't seen her since May, so we definitely had a lot to chat about!

I have a serious shopping addiction, and I really need to start saving money and stop spending so soon I'm going to start working on some budgeting organization and will hopefully be sharing that on the blog soon!

However, Sunday doesn't count! It is my birthday week after all! =)

I thought I would share (some of) the things I bought here since my main purpose of this shopping trip was to add to my fall and winter wardrobe.

Let's start off in Wet Seal shall we?

I found a lot of really cute things in Wet Seal, but didn't purchase all of them since I unfortunately have not won the lottery or been handed a million dollars by a stranger....but I did get some awesome things to wear this fall...

I purchased two pairs of flats, one brown and one red. I really needed some nice pairs of flats since I had to toss a couple of old pairs when they were worn out beyond recognition.

I really love these flats, the red ones especially and they were both fairly cheap, only $10 each!

I bought this headband for $4.42, and love it! It's definitely way cuter in person- and I can't wait to wear it on a day when I just need to have my hair pulled back.

Since I already was picking up the headband, and Wet Seal had a deal for buy one accessory, get one 50% off so I thought a new necklace would be perfect!

I also had to go to Sephora to get my birthday gift- a highlighter/mascara duo from Benefit! I was so excited when I found out that this was the birthday freebie and I knew I had to go in to get it.

While I was in there, I also picked up the Anastasia Brow Kit, which I have heard excellent things about and wanted to try!

In Hollister I picked up the softest sweater I have ever touched.

It's hard to tell in this picture, I'll have to show it in an outfit because it's quite long. I will be wearing it with black leggings and boots and am so excited to flaunt this fall outfit!

Finally in American Eagle I did some serious damage...

I really needed some long-sleeved sweaters/ shirts for the fall/winter and found a great sweater...

and two soft long-sleeved shirts..

I also picked up a couple of tank tops to wear underneath some of my sweaters that don't cover completely. I was a little wary of the nude tank top, however the more that I thought about it I realized that it was brilliant! Now I can wear something underneath things that need definitely need something underneath but without all the color sticking out and not matching (which drives me crazy).

That's all for this shopping trip- I did buy a few other things, however some I thought might be boring and others I won't share on the blog but I hope this helped if you were looking for some cheaper options for fall clothing. I love to shop and I love clothes but I hate spending a ton of money on one item. I prefer to get a ton of items for my money!

Happy Monday!

Shopping Day =)

Yesterday I was able to spend the day with my best friend, Rachel. It was such a nice day to go shopping and I had one stop that I really wanted to make- IKEA!

Rachel lives in Connecticut, only about 15 minutes from the IKEA store- a place I have never been. I know what you're thinking- someone who loves organization so much has never been to IKEA but unfortunately that was the case. We don't have one in Rhode Island (we also don't have a Container Store but that's a whole other story) I was so excited to get the full IKEA experience and my credit card came fully armed because I knew I was going to buy a few things.

I'm pretty sure this is what heaven looks like.

Anyways, I did manage to pick out a few things at IKEA- a lantern, 2 baskets, and snowflake lights! I really want an expedit shelving unit- however I didn't have a way to bring it home and I also don't currently have room for it! Someday =)

Check out iheartorganizing expedit inspiration here.

We did also manage to make it to a few other stores in our travels- Bakers, Pier 1,  and Sally Beauty Supply. Were also part of our shopping day. Here's a picture of the purchases I made throughout the day.

Black Boots- Bakers (they are currently liquidating so a bunch of stores are going out of business- these boots were 1/2 off! Rachel got two pairs)
Snowflake lights- IKEA
Baskets- IKEA
Naked Palette- Sally Beauty Supply (includes primer potion)
Lantern- IKEA
Ornaments (ball, pickle, starfish)- Pier 1
Candle Holders- Pier 1

Overall it was a successful shopping trip!

My snowflake lights were hung last night...

Pretty right? Well I sent Rachel that picture and she sent me back one of how she had hung up hers..

Love the Christmas spirit!!!

Have a great day everybody!
