Life Lately: New Job, 50 days and Everything Else

So, I never meant to skip a full week of blogging...but I just kind of did. Life has been SO busy lately! There have been a lot of changes going on in my life and a ton of items on my to do list but I really want to make sure to keep up with the blog so I have this time of my life documented- so I will try to be better!

A big item on my to- do list was to finish all my thank you notes for my shower and I managed to get them all done very quickly. Definitely a huge task that I was relieved to get out of the way.

I also left my job of FOUR years! I worked for South County Orthopedics which then became Ortho RI. After four years it was time to move on and I managed to find a job that was well worth leaving! For privacy reasons I won't say where it is,  but here's a picture of my current office:

I am loving it so far and am very happy with this decision.

Football and fantasy football are back! We had a live draft which was brand new for me but so much fun!

Other then all of this we are in the final stages of wedding planning- last Friday was officially 50 days until the wedding! I will be doing a post updating you on everything I've been working on.

Also, we spent this weekend in NH! I will be sharing all of that with you too- so keep an eye out.

Disney- Day 4, and Disney Haul!

Saturday was our last day in Disney, and we decided to spend it in Downtown Disney shopping! Doreen and Jess had been telling me about an amazing store in the Marketplace called Basin and I was super excited to check it out- along with the usual Disney Stores on property.

I ended up purchasing a ton of items and receiving a few things during the trip as well!

One of my students bought Doreen and I mugs so we could refill and get free drinks every day. We also received the Disney performing arts bag after our students performance. I ended up purchasing a scrapbook kit, 2 postcards and a nail polish set for myself. I purchased a stuffed animal Sully (from Monsters Inc) for my friend Kristin as a birthday present and also purchased two mugs for my parents that I will be giving them for Christmas- all of which are un-pictured.

In Basin, I purchased a Pink Sugar bath bomb, a Pink Sugar moisturizing stick, and Mosquito Repellant Soap...I wanted to purchase a Pink Sugar Body Butter but it was too large to be allowed on the plane since it would be considered a liquid. I think I may place an order on Basin in the near future =)

After shopping, we headed to the airport and then back home to Rhode Island. It was a great trip with some amazing students and I am so proud of them! =)

Disney- Day 3!

Day 3 at Disney World started off with the safari ride at Animal Kingdom! We had heard that early morning was the best time to go on this ride because the animals had just been fed and were more likely to be out and around during that time. It was definitely true! I saw more animals on this safari then I ever have before. Here is just a few of the pictures I snapped during the safari....

In addition to the safari ride, we also went on Kali River Rapids (where I got completely soaked!), Expedition Everest (one of the best rollercoasters ever!), and Dinosaur (scariest ride ever!). I love rides where there are huge drops, but I hate anything where things jump out at you. I would much rather ride Tower of Terror a thousand times in a row then go on a ride where something jumps out at me!

We also went to see The Lion King show, which was amazing! There is so much talent on the stage it is unbelievable. I especially appreciated the amazing dance routine and the incredible gymnasts. I truly enjoyed every second of it and think that I could easily watch it more than once in a day.

After leaving Animal Kingdom it was time to head back over to Epcot. We didn't get a chance to work our way around the countries the day before, so we took our time perusing the countries we were interested in.

I saw Duffy the Disney bear!

Sam got a henna tattoo in Morocco, and that gave us a chance to check out all the fabulous jewelry that was in there!

We also managed to catch a glimpse of a few other characters!

Then we headed to the Polynesian resort to relax on the beach and watch the fireworks over the Magic Kingdom. We had a perfect view of Cinderella's Castle and it was truly an amazing place to watch the fireworks, I highly recommend it!

While we waited for the fireworks Sam decided to make a "hidden" Mickey in the sand. A lot of people walked by and pointed it out and took pictures of it. Sam was grinning from ear to ear!

It was a great last night in Disney World, but we still had one day left to explore so stay tuned for tomorrow's post on Disney, Day 4!

Disney- Day 2!

We woke up very early on Thursday morning, and got ready to head to the Magic Kingdom!

I was able to meet one of my favorite characters, Stitch soon after we got there! I was so excited to see him without a line- I got a chance to get a bunch of pictures with him..

It was so great to be back in the Magic Kingdom! We managed to see almost everything and did all the rides that we wanted to do.

 The first ride we went on was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin...

We followed it up with Space Mountain and then headed over to Frontierland to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pirates of the Caribbean and Splash Mountain.

Then headed into Fantasyland where we saw Alice and the March Hare

and the wicked stepmother and stepsisters from Cinderella...

Then we rode the new Little Mermaid ride in New Fantasyland...

Soon after that, it was time for us to get on the bus and head over to Downtown Disney for the dance performance.

My dance girls performed at the Waterside Stage at Downtown Disney and did a fabulous job! I was backstage and unable to see the actual performance, but I did watch it on peoples cameras afterwards and I was so proud of them! It was nice that a bunch of the parents told me they will never forget seeing their daughters dance onstage at Disney World!

So proud =)

After the performance, everyone headed back to the hotel to change and then we split back up into our individual groups to hit the parks again! We decided to go to Epcot, and ended up going on Soarin (which had an extremely long wait) before going to our dinner reservation.

Earlier in the day, I made a reservation for Coral Reef, a place I have never eaten. It was amazing! I ate a steak dinner and we looked out at the aquarium where there were hundreds of fish, turtles and sharks!

It was an amazing dinner and a great place to relax after the performance! We only ended up going on Spaceship Earth after dinner (which Jess and I set our preferences to Spanish- pretty amusing) and then we headed back to the hotel to hang out a bit before bed.

It was definitely a great day, but there's still two more to go! I will be back tomorrow with Disney Day 3!
