Couponing Alert!

Happy Friday my couponing friends!

I thought today in lieu of my typical Weekly Couponing Wrapup I would share a few deals that are going on over the next week and a few places I like to shop for deals around the holidays. I am not a huge Black Friday shopper- I don't like to be out there with the crowds, but I am all for getting a good deal!

CVS

I know that I talk about CVS all the time but they are having an amazing sale starting Sunday. There are a ton of items that are free after Extra Care Bucks (ECBs). Why wouldn't you pick up these free items? You can use them for stocking stuffers or save them for yourself for a later time. Check out the ad at CVS.com!

Kohls

Kohls is one of my favorite stores to shop at! If you are shopping online during the next week check out retailmenot.com in order to find the updated coupon codes to get 20% off your order. Kohls has amazing sales anyways, but with 20% tacked on top you can get so many great items!

Amazon

I am an Amazon Prime member at I cannot recommend it enough! Free two day shipping has come in handy on several occasions for me and has definitely saved me a ton of money over the past year. I have purchased a few items for Christmas gifts on Amazon because they sell absolutely everything! Amazon is actually starting their Black Friday deals today- so get over there!

Walmart

This year Walmart is starting price matching Black Friday deals one week early (AKA TODAY!) So if there are any deals you are looking for you might want to head to Walmart this weekend and try to get the price you want early so you don't have to deal with the crowds next week.

Project 365: Week 46

Another week closer to the end of the year! Here's what I was up to on Instagram this week....

On day 318 I had a pretty massive headache at work and when I got home the only thing that made me feel slightly better (other then laying in bed) was some awesome ninja turtle mac and cheese!

Day 319. It snowed- which was not very fun!

Day 320. The theme of this weekend was Ya Better Catch Up (which you saw in Monday's post ) and I managed to get so much accomplished throughout the weekend!

Day 321. 25,000 views on this little blog. My little corner of the internet is getting some serious love and I couldn't be more grateful to every single one of you who takes the time out of your day to read what I post here. I feel so blessed!

Day 322 I showed a tiny peek at my office desk where I have a Frozen cup (Elsa and Anna) and a Mickey sticker- I love having a decked out in Disney desk!

Day 323. A gorgeous sunset on my way home from work. Although it felt a little too early in the day for it!

Day 324. This little girl could probably stay in bed all day!

November Birchbox Review

This month's Birchbox had a quick turnaround here! I was excited to try all of the products out the moment I received them so I have already given them a weeks worth of tries (or a lifetimes worth of tries- depending on how you look at it for some of the items) So here we go with quick reviews of each item I received in my November Birchbox!

This Make makeup remover works well- clearing all the eye makeup off my eyelids and eyelashes. My only complaint about it is that it's extremely oily! I love my Sephora eye makeup remover and use that one regularly and this one was just full of oil in comparison. I will definitely finish this container- but will be using up my Sephora eye makeup remover first and use this one as a backup.

The Hello shampoo and conditioner smelled fantastic. I loved the citrus scent and really enjoyed using them. Although I can't say they did anything miraculous to my hair- I also can't say they did anything bad to it either. I liked these enough and would definitely use them in the future if they were available to me!

Mirenesse mascara definitely curls my lashes like no mascara I've ever used before. It does get slightly clumpy but other then that it's a fantastic mascara! I have to say it passes my dry test since I only like mascaras that are very dry and don't smear all over the place. I would repurchase this if I had the chance.

I like this Not Soap Radio shower gel. It's citrus scented and fresh, and overall I felt like I was getting clean while I used it. It's not my favorite scent of all time but I will finish the bottle and would use it in the future, I just wouldn't pick this scent over a lot of other scents that are out there.

I'm not a dark chocolate person. At all. However, this chuaco chocolate bar was filled with pop rocks and for some reason that made the chocolate bar amazing! It was so cool to eat chocolate with pop rocks inside and I would eat this again for sure. If you haven't tasted one- you should get on it!

A Functional and Pretty Bookshelf Nook

If you don't remember my room was originally two rooms when we started renovating the house. There is a small nook in my room, just big enough for my little bookshelf which I styled in my typical beachy look. I also included a few new pieces of decor so I thought I would share how I organize my bookshelf and show you what I've used to decorate it. 

On the top shelf I keep my sand jar which holds sand from multiple beaches on two continents. I love the idea of bringing back a free souvenir from each trip I go on.
I also have a small container with rocks from the Mediterranean Sea, a plastic champagne glass that says "MOH" from Rachel's wedding, a teal candle, two frames, and a lantern from Ikea.

The first actual shelf of books holds a variety of novels. I have most of the Nicholas Sparks books, some Jodi Picoult, Lauren Conrad, and Kiera Cass on this shelf.
I also have a few shells and a starfish which came out of a wedding centerpiece. I bought the glass wave from a local glass artisan, and then the beach-y sign at a local shop.

My second shelf holds mostly paperbacks. I keep a cute candle I received as a gift and a few shells on this shelf as well. These shells were picked off the beach in Florida!
The bottom shelf holds my Twilight and Harry Potter books, along with two frames, and a beach chair candle holder which I love!

Next to my bookshelf I have all the magazines I haven't read yet in this pretty bin that I found at TJmaxx. 

Someday I will have a library in my house to store all my books- but for now this bookshelf will do!

Ya Better Catch Up!

Sometimes you need to take a weekend for yourself. Not make any plans and just spend some time around the house catching up on anything and everything. That is exactly what I decided to do with this weekend!

Now that I'm working regular human being hours in my new job it makes it hard to stay caught up with regular organizing and cleaning along with the thousands of other tasks that I'm trying to keep up with on any given day. Weekends always seem to be jam-packed with events to attend and things to do so I decided that I wouldn't make any plans for this past weekend- at all.

Instead, I made a list. It wasn't a long list but one that included quite a few tasks that needed to be completed.

The first thing I did was clean out my purse. I always end up with tons of receipts to enter into my spending log, random bits of paper, and of course change. I took my dollar bills and started a new $1 fund and dropped the change into my counting change jar. I also pulled out my sunglasses because they were beginning to feel broken from being tossed in and out of my purse daily. I traded them out for a new pair (I never spend much on them- $5 or less- so I don't feel guilty about just throwing them in my bag!)

I sorted everything out on my bed. A box of Christmas presents, a paycheck stub, coupons, things to be recycled, things to be shredded, couponing items to be put away, more coupons, samples, etc...

Then I went through and put everything away and recycled what needed to be recycled.

I had a ton of coupons to clip thanks to my friend Melinda who gave me a huge bag of coupons that she had been collecting for me! I had a ton of work ahead of me and it took me the better half of Saturday to get them all clipped and sorted into my binder.

I also had a ton of laundry to do (including sheets and towels). While I waited for my sheets to finish I laid all my clothes out in categories on my mattress pad so it made putting them away easier and more organized.

I also cleaned out my frog tank, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, dusted, paid a few bills, organized my shutterfly prints, and took out the trash and recycling. It was an extremely productive weekend!

I even managed to get working on my scrapbooks for a little bit on Saturday. I am going to jump on the bandwagon that Samantha at Simply Organized is on called "One Day I'm Going To Get More Organized" and my scrapbooks are definitely part of that project which I will be talking about more in  the coming weeks!

Weekly Couponing Wrapup (I'm Back!)

After a looooong time of not doing any couponing at all I am finally back for a Friday Weekly Couponing Wrapup!

Since you saw my Stockpile Closet on Wednesday you see now why I don't like to coupon anymore unless I am getting something for free or extremely cheap! This week I went to both Target and CVS and got some great deals at both places.

At CVS I did one small transaction at the beginning of the week where I picked up the free Just The Basics paper towels, chapstick, batteries, and lysol wipes. It wasn't a great deal but I needed all of these things so I picked them up anyways!

My great deal occurred on Wednesday...

2 Kitkats @ $1 each

1 Rescue Sleep @ $9.49

received $9.49 in ECB

Free!

6 Purex Laundry Detergents @$6.79

Buy 1 get 2 free!

Paid $13.58 for all six detergents, making them $2.26 each!

I unfortunately didn't take any pictures of my Target haul, but I picked up...

4 Johnson's Baby Powders @ $1.97 each

used 20% off Target cartwheel, making each one $1.57 each

used two $1.50/2 coupons

Paid 82 cents each!

I also picked up a few clearance deals... Sharpies for 90 cents each, and loofas and tape for just $1 in the dollar spot!

I am already planning on a few deals for next week, and am starting my Christmas shopping as well. I'm usually finished with Christmas shopping by now, so I'm quite behind, whoops!

Project 365: Week 45

We are within SEVEN weeks of the end of the year. This year has flown by and has certainly been an eventful one. I moved, changed jobs, two of my best friends got married, close friends had kids...my life has changed in a lot of ways I didn't expect and I hope the next year will be a little calmer =)

Now here's what happened during week 45...

Day 311. I love the look of fall in New England! Boots and colorful leaves make the world look brighter =)

Day 312. I received some awfully good news in the mail...it's nice to win sometimes =)

Day 313, Getting a scalp massage from Kayla's cat S'mores. It actually felt pretty good!

Day 314. I had a lovely coffee date with my friends Kaitlin and Melinda (and little Lydia) I loved getting to chat with them about everything going on in our lives.

Day 315. I got to spend a great deal of the afternoon/night with one of my best friends, Kristin! We had a lovely dinner at Outback- yum!

Day 316. I wished a Happy Veterans Day to everyone who has served. Including my cousin Andrew who is in the navy now and my dad who was in the navy back in the day!

Day 317. It's time to stock up on Purex this week. I'll share all my couponing deals here on the blog tomorrow!
