Engagement Gifts To Buy Your Besties

Have you ever been completely stumped with what to buy for your besties as an engagement gift? Well I'm here to do a little round up of gifts that I've been given for our engagement as well as gifts that I have seen that would be super sweet. 

Getting engaged is an exciting time and it's so nice to show the ones you love that you are excited for them! This guide will focus on gifts for the ladies but I'm sure there are plenty of places to find gifts for your engaged guy friends as well. 

One of the first gifts I received was a tote bag that says Bride on it. This one that my MOH Rachel gifted me is absolutely perfect since it's super simple and fits my taste. With a quick google search I noticed there are hundreds of different bags you can pick up for your girls! There are sequined ones, colorful ones, simple ones like mine- anything your heart desires! I do recommend a tote bag since there is plenty of information to carry around this time- I have my wedding planning binder inside mine along with miscellaneous papers I need to hold onto.

Another thoughtful gift Rachel gave me was the two tiny vials pictured above where sand will be held from my wedding day and from my honeymoon. Mine came from Painted By The Shore and I think they would make a fabulous gift for any brides who are getting married on the beach or honeymooning on the beach!

At the time of this post this mug is only $11 and how cute is it?! You can purchase it on Amazon and I think it would make such a sweet gift for any engaged girl in your life.

My friend Danielle sent me The Bride Box and it was such a sweet gift! There are many variations of it on their site so you can really customize it to your bestie. The one I received, The Bridal Beauty Box is a fun one for any girl who loves testing new beauty products. I have been testing out lip products and nail polish from this box and if you've been reading for any length of time you know that's one of my favorite activities!

Another really cute idea is a passport holder with your friends new name on it! Or simply "Mrs"

Many people plan to leave the country on their honeymoon and having a new passport holder is a simple way for them to have their new name or title on display! This one is from Zazzle and I love the fake marble look!

This adorable sun hat is from Kohl's  and every time I go into the store I want to buy it for myself....I might buy it soon... how nice would this be for a beach honeymoon?! We are going on a beach honeymoon next year and I will definitely be displaying my new title for all to see!

Have you seen these feyonce shirts?! I think they are so funny. If you do a quick google search you will find an abundance of shirts like this and ones spelled the traditional way as well. Either are adorable and nice way to encourage your bestie to show off her new ring!

Speaking of shirts I also think this one is great for any girl who is trying to get in her best shape before her wedding! You can find it at Bridal Party Tees along with hundreds of other shirts if working out isn't the brides thing!

I hope these ideas helped and remember that a gift is a sweet idea for a bride-to-be but not entirely necessary. Most brides just need besties around them who will listen to everything they are stressing about and going through during the wedding planning process and are thrilled to have you by their side!

Our Engagement Photos!

Guys I am dying over here! Our engagement photos came in and I'm obsessed! Tim and I had the best time with Carissa on a super cold Sunday in Newport and I think the pictures came out great! She did such an amazing job on our photos and we are thrilled with how they came out. We don't even look cold!

Life Lately: Engagement Shoot, St Patricks Day, Hanging With Babies

Happy Wednesday!

Today I'm sharing what I've been up to lately- this past weekend was a busy one for us. The weekends seem to be filling up quickly and the weeks have been flying by (except when I'm at work of course)

On Saturday Tim had to run and get a haircut so I did a few errands. We had engagement pictures planned for Sunday so I needed to get underwear that wouldn't show up under my white dress and buy a football to write on.

When I got home I made this save the date football (Tim did the heart because I'm hopeless at making them even). I think it turned out great- not perfect- but neither of us is perfect and our handwriting certainly isn't so why stencil it when we can make it look perfect.

I also painted my nails with an Essie gel polish that I picked up so my hand would be ready to show off that gorgeous ring Tim gave me!

On Saturday evening we headed off to Harborside in East Greenwich to meet up with Derek, Ally and Ally's sister Krystal and her husband Woody. We had a great time with them and all their friends that met up with us. We had a couple of drinks and then headed to Krystal and Woody's apartment to hang out and play some games. On the way there Tim asked Derek to be his best man and I asked Ally to be my bridesmaid- and they both said yes!

We played some games- Adult Questions and Cards Against Humanity and had a great time!

The next morning we were up bright and early to head to Newport for our engagement shoot...

We did two different outfits- one in our football jerseys and another where Tim is wearing the shirt you see in the above picture and I'm wearing a white dress. Once I get the images back I will share them with you but for now the above picture is all I have! This was in between taking pictures at different locations. We were FREEZING in the 21 degree weather. The wind was blowing around like crazy and my hands were painful from using hand warmers on them.

After a very cold morning we headed to Phils in Wakefield for a delicious breakfast! It was so nice to drink some hot coffee and warm up our bodies.

We stopped by to see Tim's brother and nephews for a bit and had a great time chatting with Dan. We also were able to ask Kason and Callan if they would like to be our ring bearers and they said yes! Callan's mom also told me that he's been talking about the wedding since and is super excited- so cute :)

We headed to Brittni and Stephen's house next to get in a little cuddle time with baby Parker!

And a little play time with Emma! She is such a ham and kept us laughing as she spoke to us in her sweet little voice and loved on her baby sister.

And played in laundry baskets- because what is more fun then that?

And she's still obsessed with Tim!

We had a great weekend and I was bummed to go back to work on Monday- but we have another full weekend coming up- which I of course will be sharing with you guys!

We're Engaged!!

This post is a little delayed but WE'RE ENGAGED!!!

Last Tuesday after work Tim and I went to dinner at the restaurant where we had our first date. After having a nice dinner he drove me around for awhile and I was so sure he was going to propose. When he finally drove us back to the apartment I was a little disappointed because I was so sure.

Once I got out of the car and turned around Tim was getting down on one knee with a ring box in his hand! 

In my opinion it's the most beautiful ring in the world and I am obsessed with it! It's been very distracting this whole past week :)

We are so excited to plan our wedding and I can't wait to share everything with you here on the blog!

Life Lately

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I thought today I would share some pictures of what's happening in my life lately!

A week ago we babysat little Emma!

We always have a blast watching her because she is so active and fun now! We got into a ton of activities such as pulling every book off her bookshelf and riding around the island on her hippo.

Also climbing on the coffee table. Such a troublemaker.

Last Sunday we went to the Roger Williams Zoo. We absolutely love visiting zoos, it's such a nice way to spend a few hours on the weekend.

The last time we visited this zoo was about two years ago when we first started dating so it was nice to go back and experience it again!

It was such a fun day and unexpected since we hadn't planned on going to the zoo initially. Aren't those always the best kind of days?!

Last week we had a nice dinner with Rachel, Ant and Tilly.  We met at The Boathouse in Mystic and enjoyed some yummy appetizers and baby snuggles.

It was so nice to catch up with Rachel and Ant since we don't get to see them all that often. Tilly is getting big so fast and is so much more aware and alert then she was before. It's so amazing how fast she's growing up!

This past Saturday we went to Megan and Josh's engagement party in Massachusetts,

The party was so nice out in their backyard. We were able to meet another couple who lives right nearby us and we have a ton in common with which was a great time.

I always forget how much I miss Megan until I see her! We spent so much time together in college it's always great to see her.

We saved a spot for Laura since we were both missing her during the party!

This weekend has also been filled with a couple of lazy mornings at home with homemade breakfast by Tim...well except the toast which was made by me. Yes, I have many talents!

Yesterday we spent most of the day at a BBQ outside which was nice. I ended up with quite a few mosquito bites but we had a good time.

Finally, I just wanted to share the polaroid pictures I took before we let this weekend. I have been playing around with my polaroid camera to try the different settings and love that it has a timer so we can take couple pictures together :)
