Our Home Office

Growing up both my parents always had offices in our home. My mom was a teacher so hers was full of crafting supplies and for some reason I got it in my head that I would have an office in my house when I grew up too.

Tim pointed out that it wasn't necessary because neither of us work from home. Well... now, with everything going on, I do. 

Our office was outfitted with Ikea furniture and mostly just holds office supplies and everything else we aren't sure what to do with but I love that we have this space. We still need some serious organization systems in here and definitely need to do an overhaul at some point, but for now it's working.

The desk is from Ikea and I would love to get a new office chair since this one squeaks constantly. Right now I have quite a few work related items on this desk but usually it is just where I house my items for paying bills and my coupons.

The Alex 9 drawer from Ikea used to house all personal items like makeup and lotions. Now it houses those items in the top few drawers and then office supplies in the bottom. I plan to eventually make this full of all office supplies.

It certainly isn't a perfectly organized and beautiful space but it has come so far! I love collecting books and it makes me so happy to have all my favorites housed on the bookshelf along with some of our personal decor we have collected. 

I haven't found a solution for my scrapbooks so for now they are just stacked here. This small organizer has some office supplies and also holds all my hanging files. I try to not keep extra paper but we do have quite a bit that I think is important to save.

I love my Martha Stewart wall organizer where I house my "TO DO" and "TO FILE" papers. It's nice that Tim and I have a place to toss things and I can set aside time each week or so to file and do the items inside. I find that this saves me time in the long run instead of constantly filing!

All my jewelry (aka all my Wet Seal and Kohls jewelry) lives in this jewelry armoire along with my collection of free sunglasses and sewing supplies. What can I say? I'm not an expensive jewelry girl. I don't take good care of sunglasses so I will never spend more than $5 on them and I know I will break all of my jewelry so it's not worth it for me to spend money on it.

I love my tall bookcase from Ikea. It needs a little work but as some point I will put aside the time to get this done!

I love having some decor from our wedding in here! I hated the idea of buying things for the wedding and then getting rid of them so I made sure things like our card box and our decor (MR&MRS sign) were things I would include in my house. My brother made our card box and I found a decal on Etsy to attach and it turned out amazing. He is truly talented!

Kelsey and Eamon's Boston Wedding

Hey everyone!

Today I want to share with you our mini vacation to Kelsey and Eamon's Boston Wedding. Kelsey is the sister of my college roommate Megan. I was so honored to be invited to her wedding and it was such a wonderful weekend. Since we were in Boston for two nights for the wedding I have a little bit to share about our time in the city as well as a few of the details from the wedding and I love capturing my memories of events here on the blog and helping people out if they are traveling someplace I've been before.

Driving into Boston is always so picturesque. I think it's one of the prettiest cities with so much history.

We had plans to head straight to our Air BnB to meet up with Laura. Our place was located right near The Commons on Temple Place. The apartment we stayed in was a two bedroom and had plenty of room for all three of us.

After hanging out and chatting with Laura for a little bit we headed out to dinner in Faneuil Hall. We ended up eating at Anthem and splitting a few dishes between the three of us.

The cheeseboard was delicious....

The pretzels were incredible and the bbq chicken pizza that I didn't get a picture of was delicious as well.

We were planning on meeting up with everyone after they finished the rehearsal dinner but we had quite a bit of time until they were done so we headed over to the Bostonia for some drinks. 

Once we got word that everyone was meeting up after the rehearsal dinner we quickly paid for our drinks and ended up meeting up with everyone at the Hilton Hotel Bar. 

It was so nice to get a chance to hang out with everyone before the wedding and to see people we haven't seen in SO long! Some of these people I haven't seen since our wedding last fall!

After spending some time hanging out and having a few drinks everyone started dispersing to get some sleep before the big day.

When we woke up the next morning Laura and I had big plans to go to Drybar!

I had done some research on Drybar before going so I knew to expect my hair to be washed, blown out and styled but I had no idea how much I would love it. 

Drybar was such a cool place from its super simple decor to the friendly hair stylists.

Pretty cool light fixture right?! 

So after an hour appointment we emerged happy and our hair looking a little more tame! When you go to Drybar you get to choose a look off the menu. I decided to do the "Old Fashioned" which is loose waves. I was very happy with my choice and Laura looked gorgeous with her wavy hair!

We arrived back at the Air BnB and met up with Tim and headed over to Stoddard's to grab some lunch.

My French dip sandwich and onion rings were pretty good but definitely not the best I've ever had. We were given the recommendation of Stoddard's from someone at the wedding and they told us that the atmosphere was great. When we went at lunch time we were met with a really cool bar but a super strange bartender so it may have been a different experience at a different time of day!

After Stoddard's we went back across the street to our Air BnB to get changed and then called our Uber to head to the church!

We took a couple quick pictures before heading in our (non-air conditioned) Uber to the church. Seriously over a 100* and no A/C....It was a long ride. I know, I know first world problems. 

Kelsey and Eamon got married at St. Cecilia's in Boston.

It is an absolutely gorgeous church.

We watched Megan walk down the aisle as matron of honor!

I didn't get too many pictures during the ceremony but doesn't Kelsey look gorgeous?! 

After we left the church we went back to the apartment since we had quite a bit of time before the reception. We hung around, watched some tv and chatted and then headed over to the State Room.

The reception took place on the 33rd floor and once we got off the elevator we were greeted with a table containing the card box and guest book.

Once we entered the reception it was absolutely breathtaking.....

Seriously, how amazing is that view? I have never been to a wedding with a view like this before, it was incredible.

I'm so lucky to still be in touch with my college roommates! We don't get to see each other too often but it's always so nice to spend time together. 

The flower arrangement centerpieces were gorgeous.

First up for the meal was our salad course and it was delicious.

Although the sunset didn't happen outside our windows we did get a gorgeous cotton candy sky. 

Our steak, mashed potatoes, and vegetables were delicious.

When the red velvet with cream cheese frosting cake came out we were excited to dig in and it was amazing!

It was such an amazing wedding with a live band. We are so happy for Kelsey and Eamon and are so thankful they invited us to be a part of their special day.

 The next morning we headed to the post-wedding brunch and then came home after an exhausting and fulfilling weekend.

Have you been to any weddings this year? This was our only one this year and after last years marathon I can't say I'm mad about it! We had an amazing time and this wedding fulfilled everything I love about weddings: a beautiful location, an amazing couple and great time with friends!

Our Wedding: The Ultimate What We Bought Where

Happy Monday everyone!

Today I'm sharing a huge post of what we bought where for our wedding. I know that I often am curious where people buy things and I wanted to make sure we shared in case anyone wants to know!

This is going to be a huge post full of a lot of links but just remember I purchased every item with my own money and the views expressed in this post are 100% my own.

First up, my wedding dress. 

I wanted a super simple wedding dress and this dress delivered but also made me feel like a real life princess! I purchased this dress at Alexandra's Boutique in Fall River MA. There is no designer on the dress so I'm not even sure who it's by but I absolutely loved it. Alexandra's has a million different types of dresses so I highly recommend it as the place to shop for your dress. The sparkly belt came on the dress as well and I absolutely loved the sparkle.

I purchased these robes from the Etsy shop the fancypidgeon. The listing for them is here. I ordered seven blush robes with letter embroidery on the front for each of my bridesmaids and one white robe with "Mrs. Gooding" on the back for myself.

Also my earrings are shown in this picture and they were also purchased at Alexandra's Boutique during my accessories appointment.

My hairpiece was one of my all time favorite parts of my outfit and was purchased at Alexandra's Boutique. My hairdresser Kayla made it work perfectly and I wish my hair looked like this every day!

All our bouquets were fake! They were purchased from Afloral.com and the exact link is here. I ended up cutting the two little buds off the top and no one was the wiser. I was adamant about not spending money on real flowers and I'm so glad I stuck with my gut and saved that money.

Also in the picture you can see our wedding bands which we purchased on James Allen. It's also where my engagement ring came from!

The girls all bought their bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal. The dresses I picked for them were in steel blue and can be found here.  I thought the color was gorgeous and the length was perfect since they didn't have to worry about the dress flying around like crazy in the wind.

Our place cards were sand dollars that my mom purchased I believe at Christmas Tree Shop. I used twine that I found at Michaels and printed every guest name on cardstock on our own printer.

This Happily Ever After Starts Here sign came from either Marshalls or TJ Maxx. During the summer there was a whole wedding section which was great to browse!

Our programs were just printed on cardstock at home and the teal and white basket came from Target.

We had a few chalkboard easels that we used for various signs and they were all purchased at Michaels. I found that Michaels was a great place for many wedding items! I would highly recommend checking it out if you plan on doing any DIY projects.

Tim's suit was custom made through Jos. A Bank. He picked the color, style and everything with a stylist named Jack who was awesome. He also bought his shoes and shirt from Jos. A Bank but ordered the ties and pocket squares for him and his groomsmen from The Tie Bar. 

The Mr & Mrs sign came from Marshalls/ TJ Maxx and was one of my favorite decor pieces. The starfish that were scattered throughout our ceremony were picked up by my mom from The Christmas Tree Shop. 

The centerpieces were made of pieces from Michaels. The vases and sand came from Michaels and the white unscented candles came from Walmart. 

In background you can see my sparkly clutch which came from DSW. I loved it and honestly thought it was worth it to hold my lipstick and phone throughout the night.

See those yellow dice? They were purchased from Amazon and were great for the game we played. If you are looking for oversized dice these are definitely inexpensive and worth it.

Our ring bearers carried these briefcases from The Knot which I absolutely loved! Their sunglasses were purchased by Tim on Knockaround.

All of the groomsmen wore suits that were rented from Jos A. Bank. Their ties and pocket squares were from The Tie Bar.

The flower girl dresses were purchased from Target and all three girls looked so adorable!

The flower girl baskets came from Amazon. The listing for them is here and I loved how simple they were. The girls seemed to enjoy carrying them around and filling them up with sand and dumping flowers out of them.

Our favors were Photo Booth photo magnets that I found on Amazon. They were great and people really seemed to like them! We also have a ton of leftovers so that means we can put all sorts of photo booth pictures on our fridge.  

Our table numbers were printed offline and placed in frames that I found at Kohls. I picked the color Robin's Egg Blue and thought they looked great with all the other blues and beachy colors we had going on. 

Our cake came from Scrumptions and our white cake stand came from HomeGoods. I am glad we had a super simple cake stand because it really made all the sand crumbles stand out!

The trays we filled with sand and used for our place cards all came from HomeGoods during a very lucky shopping trip!

The frame on the table held one of our engagement pictures and came from Marshalls/ TJ Maxx.

Our guestbook was made from a family friend who has her own Etsy shop.  I love it and am so glad we had it made!

Our cardbox was made by my brother and I purchased the decal for it off Etsy.
