Life Lately: Summer Weekend Fun!

Oh it's always great once the weekend comes around here. I've been working a lot of Saturdays recently doing some overtime but we have been enjoying the last few weekends of summer as much as we can around here.

We started our Friday night with a trip up to Pawtucket, after finding out we didn't actually need to be up there we ended up stopping by Slater Park and looking for some Pokemon! While walking around I received a text from Brittni asking if we wanted to meet her, Stephen, and Emma in Oakland Beach for some more Pokemon hunting.

We headed to Oakland Beach and arrived a few minutes early just as the sun was setting.

After walking around for awhile and entertaining Emma with funny faces and noises we settled down for dinner at Iggys. If you've never been to Rhode Island and had Iggy's before you should definitely stop by for a doughboy...and if you have no idea what a doughboy is you are seriously missing out.

We had a great time and were in bed pretty early since I was working nice and early Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon consisted of laying on the couch since we had a big night ahead of us. Un-pictured we ate dinner at The Haversham for my grammy's 75th birthday and then headed off to Fred's birthday party later that night.

I haven't been too great at taking pictures lately, something I need to get better at again!

Sunday however I have a few pictures to share! We spent the day kayaking with Tim's family on Wood River. There were eleven of us; two double kayaks, four single kayaks, and one canoe. It was quite the trip!

Tim's sister Brittany and her puppy Attie shared a kayak for half the trip and then Attie shared with Brit's boyfriend Justin for the second half. Attie loves kayaking!

Tim's nephews Callan and Kason had a blast swimming around when we stopped. They loved floating around in their lifejackets and the river was so calm and shallow they were able to move around easily!

We also stopped at a rope swing which quite a few of the group took a turn on. I prefer to stay inside the kayak and not get covered in river water :)

It was a great day and we had beautiful weather, great company, and nice exercise!

Plus anytime I get to hang around with this guy it's a pretty great time <3

How was your weekend?!

Life Lately: Jenna's 30th Birthday and Pokemon Go

I admit it, I am officially one of those people obsessed with Pokemon Go...

I'm lowering my head in shame as we speak because Tim and I have been playing very often throughout the last week. I do think it's a great game because not only is it fun, it involves seeing different places and getting out and moving. We have taken a bunch of walks outside lately which we normally would avoid in this heat but the game has forced us to get moving!

On Friday night after work we met up with Brittni, Stephen and Emma in Wilcox Park to catch some Pokemon. It was a bit of a drive to get down there but worth it since there were so many new and different Pokemon. Also we were able to spend time with our friends and our favorite baby!

Saturday I spent a good part of the day cleaning, doing laundry, and getting stuff done around the apartment while Tim went golfing. Then we headed up to northern Rhode Island for our friend Jenna's 30th Birthday!

(Photo stolen from my friend Brittni since the only pictures I took were of Emma!)

It was fun to hang out with my trivia friends outside of trivia, play with the baby and chat about what everyone is up to!

I've said it before but Emma absolutely LOVES Tim. It is so adorable to watch her with him. She just stares at him non-stop, thinks he's hilarious and always seems content when he holds her. It's so cute :)

She's not as fascinated with me, but she did enjoy pulling my hair for awhile :)

We had a great afternoon! After the party we headed down to Roger Williams Park to hit some Pokestops and see what we could catch. We were pretty disappointed as we walked around with Brittni, her mom Sue, sister Kylee, and of course Emma because there were no new Pokemon anywhere around. We did get out and walked quite a bit though and I was able to reach my step goal on my new Fitbit (review coming soon!)

Now it's Sunday and besides hunting Pokemon and eating we haven't done too much which is just the way I like it! Sitting here and blogging while Tim plays video games is a perfect Sunday afternoon. It's nice to get a little rest since every weekend seems to be jam packed with events! I'm excited because I only have a three day week and then we are taking a mini trip!

Just a few Pokemon pictures from this morning.

When your boyfirend takes over a gym...

I hatched an egg and this came out of it...

Tim was super jealous because apparently it's his favorite one. I don't know anything about Pokemon but I'm thrilled to catch everyone I can!

Hope you are enjoying what's left of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by :)

Life Lately: 4th of July, Puppy Playtime and Fireworks!

We had another full day on the 4th of July! We started out with heading to the movies with Tim's sister to see The Legend of Tarzan. If I'm being honest the movie was far down on my to-see list. Like, non-existent I had NO interest in seeing it but I went along for the ride and it was a great movie. It was entertaining and very different then I expected it to be and I'm glad I went to see it.

After the movie we had some puppy play time!

Attie was a little resistant to her pool and hasn't been a huge fan of the water so far.

But after a few different tricks we managed to get her in there and she had a blast!

After playing in the water and rolling around in the dirt...

And jumping all over Tim...

She was pretty tired! We spent the afternoon playing Hi-Low-Jack and made dinner on the grill before driving down to Wakefield and checking out the fireworks at Old Mountain Fields.

There is absolutely no filter on that picture, the sky was truly that gorgeous!

I also got to hang out with my favorite baby, Emma!

Brit and I have sat together during the fireworks at Old Mountain Fields so many times I've lost count. Although we don't necessarily go every year (I've missed a few years for various reasons) it is great to have a place to always plan on going for 4th of July!

Tim is so good with Emma and she LOVES him, she has been fascinated with him since we first introduced them which is so cute! She has been rolling around like crazy too so it was fun to see her rolling around on the blankets, she will be crawling before we know it!

Also; Emma, Bella, and Attie all were GREAT during the fireworks. You would think that between two babies and a puppy someone would've freaked out. Attie was fed treats once the fireworks started and didn't seem fazed by them at all. Emma and Bella both watched for a couple minutes and then passed out...amazing!

So that was our 4th of July and I hope you had a great one as well!

Life Lately: Escape The Room, Golfing and Kayaking!

We are still playing catch up from last weekend on the blog, there were just too many fun activities for one blog post. Plus this weekend has been much more low-key so there's not too much to update you on anyways!

One of the best activities of the weekend was Escape Rhode Island which is part of Escape The Room. If you've never heard of it before the basic concept is you are put in a room along with teammates and you have to solve puzzles in order to get out of the room in 60 minutes.

Tim and I went along with his sister Brittany and her boyfriend Justin. We were teamed up with another couple who we never actually learned their names because as soon as we got in the room we got to work immediately! I won't go into specifics because from what I hear you can go into this same room in many other locations and I don't want to ruin it! However, we had an absolute blast and I want to go back and complete the other rooms they have available!

We finished with a little over 11 minutes to spare which was great! The other team going at the same time as us was a family of four who according to the people in the control room argued the entire time and unfortunately did not make it out in time! It really is a great team building activity and works your brain so much!

On Sunday morning Tim and I stood in line for one of Rhode Island's best food items...

Allie's donuts is one of the most popular stops in Rhody and there are always so many people waiting in line for donuts! We grabbed a selection and then headed off to Cranston to hit some golf balls.

I mostly watch Tim hit golf balls because I am not great at it. I do hit a few myself but my hands start to feel cramped and I prefer to sit and watch! In the couple of times we've gone I've gotten slightly better although I always feel self-conscious and like all the other golfers are watching me miss the ball! I find it most frustrating when there are young kids there hitting it way further then me! Oh well :)

After hitting a large bucket of golf balls we decided to try something different and go mini-golfing! This is something we had yet to do as a couple and we had fun!

From the score card I'm sure you can see that Tim won and I don't even need to show you the other side :)

While we were at mini-golf Tim's family invited to head out on a kayaking trip with them later in the day so we quickly ran home, changed into our bathing suits and drove towards Narragansett.

We met up with Tim's parents, his sister Brittany and her boyfriend Justin and their dog Attie for some fun times on the river!

It was Attie's first time kayaking and she was awesome! Brittany and Justin got a two person kayak and Attie just sat in between them. Anytime you would call Attie's name she would look at you like she was trying to figure out what exactly was going on.

We had a blast and even went swimming once we made it up to a little beach at the end of the river. It was so fun to spend time outside getting some exercise and checking out a new area to kayak in.

That was our Saturday night and Sunday...next up is 4th of July!

Life Lately!

Happy Friday! Thank goodness it's finally Friday, I swear yesterday dragged like no day I've ever seen before! Todays post is all about my life lately and if you've hung around in this little corner of the internet enough you've seen several posts like this where I share a hodgepodge of pictures I've taken recently.

We're going a few weeks back but here are some things we've been up to besides moving!

One night after work we headed down to Narragansett and took a hike that was absolutely gorgeous. We walked all along the water and even though it was just about a mile walk we spent a lot of time wandering around the rocks and sand, picking up shells and enjoying chatting.

The hike was Black Point in Narragansett and it is a gorgeous area! It starts to get pretty crowded down that way after Memorial Day so I'm glad we did this hike before all the tourists showed up!

Just a quick loop but a fun one!

I also got to spend some one on one time with Tim's sisters dog Attie!

I went and let her out one day that I had off work and she was such a sweetheart! I miss having a dog so it was great to get to play with her for awhile!

The same day I was in charge of letting Attie out they gave us our apartment keys and the fun really began!

I visited Tim at work and thought the way he sits is hilarious....it's a very casual office ;)

Emma came and ate lunch with Brittni and I one day! She was so quiet that I didn't even know she was in the backseat of the car at first! This little girl is truly the cutest baby and is so well behaved!

Last weekend Tim and I spent some time walking 6 miles on a local bike path! We didn't set out to walk six miles but rather walked three, realized it wasn't going to loop around, and then turned around to head back to the car!

Along the way there was an outdoor gym which provided us some entertainment!

Look at those muscles! ;)

Oh hi Tim- thanks for reading my blog! Even though I tell you not to!

So I forgot to turn off the app once we had completed the six miles and were back to the car. It ended up being slightly over 6, but for part of the last little bit we were wandering a grocery store grabbing some water and eating from the salad bar! So we'll just call it 6!

Afterwards we thought we deserved a reward so some good old-fashioned Del's it was! We both opted for the Watermelon flavored Del's which I highly recommend if you ever visit our lovely little state.

That night we headed to a party where...

SURPRISE my brother showed up too! Well not so much of a surprise because I may have called him to come. How often am I somewhere that my brother is invited too? Not that often is the answer!

Poor Tim, dealing with drunk Melissa.

On Memorial Day we had our youngest visitor yet at our apartment...

Emma! Her parents came over as well :)

She loves her Uncle Tim! I swear every time Tim holds her she just stares and stares at him! It was so nice to have Brittni, Stephen and Emma see our new place! Rachel and Ant came to see it on Sunday but they came for breakfast and unfortunately I didn't think about taking pictures at that time! I love that my best friends have visited so quickly!

This week has been slow going but we welcomed the newest member of our trivia team!

Yup, Emma again! She's certainly around a lot these days huh? :)

Well I am off! Have a great Friday and weekend everybody!
