Life Lately: Jenna's 30th Birthday and Pokemon Go

I admit it, I am officially one of those people obsessed with Pokemon Go...

I'm lowering my head in shame as we speak because Tim and I have been playing very often throughout the last week. I do think it's a great game because not only is it fun, it involves seeing different places and getting out and moving. We have taken a bunch of walks outside lately which we normally would avoid in this heat but the game has forced us to get moving!

On Friday night after work we met up with Brittni, Stephen and Emma in Wilcox Park to catch some Pokemon. It was a bit of a drive to get down there but worth it since there were so many new and different Pokemon. Also we were able to spend time with our friends and our favorite baby!

Saturday I spent a good part of the day cleaning, doing laundry, and getting stuff done around the apartment while Tim went golfing. Then we headed up to northern Rhode Island for our friend Jenna's 30th Birthday!

(Photo stolen from my friend Brittni since the only pictures I took were of Emma!)

It was fun to hang out with my trivia friends outside of trivia, play with the baby and chat about what everyone is up to!

I've said it before but Emma absolutely LOVES Tim. It is so adorable to watch her with him. She just stares at him non-stop, thinks he's hilarious and always seems content when he holds her. It's so cute :)

She's not as fascinated with me, but she did enjoy pulling my hair for awhile :)

We had a great afternoon! After the party we headed down to Roger Williams Park to hit some Pokestops and see what we could catch. We were pretty disappointed as we walked around with Brittni, her mom Sue, sister Kylee, and of course Emma because there were no new Pokemon anywhere around. We did get out and walked quite a bit though and I was able to reach my step goal on my new Fitbit (review coming soon!)

Now it's Sunday and besides hunting Pokemon and eating we haven't done too much which is just the way I like it! Sitting here and blogging while Tim plays video games is a perfect Sunday afternoon. It's nice to get a little rest since every weekend seems to be jam packed with events! I'm excited because I only have a three day week and then we are taking a mini trip!

Just a few Pokemon pictures from this morning.

When your boyfirend takes over a gym...

I hatched an egg and this came out of it...

Tim was super jealous because apparently it's his favorite one. I don't know anything about Pokemon but I'm thrilled to catch everyone I can!

Hope you are enjoying what's left of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by :)

Life Lately: 4th of July, Puppy Playtime and Fireworks!

We had another full day on the 4th of July! We started out with heading to the movies with Tim's sister to see The Legend of Tarzan. If I'm being honest the movie was far down on my to-see list. Like, non-existent I had NO interest in seeing it but I went along for the ride and it was a great movie. It was entertaining and very different then I expected it to be and I'm glad I went to see it.

After the movie we had some puppy play time!

Attie was a little resistant to her pool and hasn't been a huge fan of the water so far.

But after a few different tricks we managed to get her in there and she had a blast!

After playing in the water and rolling around in the dirt...

And jumping all over Tim...

She was pretty tired! We spent the afternoon playing Hi-Low-Jack and made dinner on the grill before driving down to Wakefield and checking out the fireworks at Old Mountain Fields.

There is absolutely no filter on that picture, the sky was truly that gorgeous!

I also got to hang out with my favorite baby, Emma!

Brit and I have sat together during the fireworks at Old Mountain Fields so many times I've lost count. Although we don't necessarily go every year (I've missed a few years for various reasons) it is great to have a place to always plan on going for 4th of July!

Tim is so good with Emma and she LOVES him, she has been fascinated with him since we first introduced them which is so cute! She has been rolling around like crazy too so it was fun to see her rolling around on the blankets, she will be crawling before we know it!

Also; Emma, Bella, and Attie all were GREAT during the fireworks. You would think that between two babies and a puppy someone would've freaked out. Attie was fed treats once the fireworks started and didn't seem fazed by them at all. Emma and Bella both watched for a couple minutes and then passed out...amazing!

So that was our 4th of July and I hope you had a great one as well!

Rachel's Bridal Shower!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here and an extremely special day, it was my best friend Rachel's bridal shower! This day had been in the works for months, Rachel's mom, her sisters and I have been planning for it for a long time!

The event took place in Mystic CT at Latitude 41 (which is located at Mystic Seaport) and was set up outside under a tent.

I arrived early (obviously) and hurried around setting up an index card at each place setting. I had each person write down what they thought the recipe to a perfect marriage was and gave them to Rachel on a binder ring when we left the shower.

When we arrived we spent time socializing with everyone, followed by a delicious lunch. There were multiple options for everyone which was great, including a delicious pasta. I cleared my plate of course!

After everyone ate, we played a few games I had planned and then Rachel opened gifts.

I am extremely lucky to have a great group of girls in Rachel's bridal party because when it was time to open gifts, we managed to get it done in 45 minutes! I gave everyone a job and we had quite an assembly line going. There were people collecting trash, organizing gifts, removing cards from envelopes, picking out the next gift, while I was busy writing down all the gifts in a notebook.

After gifts, we spent some time posing for pictures and then eating cupcakes until the party officially ended!

It was a great day with delicious food, amazing company and a beautiful bride-to-be!

I wanted to share a couple of the games I prepared for the shower with you if you are looking for bridal shower party games.

The first game I created was a purse scavenger hunt. I took ideas from several online purse scavenger hunts and pulled 25 items to include on my list.

The second game we played I named "he said, she said"

I asked Rachel and her fiancé Ant five questions each and then took eight quotes from them out of context. This was a great game because they said some pretty mushy-gushy stuff which made it fun to guess who said what!

Of course I handed out prizes to our two winners. I brought two candles as prizes as well as a "mystery bag" where I put a few cosmetic items I've received couponing inside.

I've been waiting to share these details with you guys for such a long time- and I have more wedding-related blog posts in the works as I participate in Rachel's wedding this summer as well as Brittni's wedding this fall. Exciting things are happening around here!

How was your weekend? Did you have any special events?
