Guestbook, Place Cards, Suits and Jess' Bridal Shower!

Hey everyone!

Today we are 33 days out from the wedding and I have some updates to share with you. I've been sending out a TON of e-mails confirming our day of timeline and making quite a few payments. I will go into more detail about all of that in a future post, today I want to show you a few things!

First of all....Our Guestbook!

I absolutely love it! I asked a family friend to custom make this for me and she did everything I wanted! It's a wooden sign with midnight blue lettering and we will have our guests sign around the saying. I really wanted our guestbook to be something we could hang up in our future home instead of putting it on a shelf and forgetting about it.

I'm thinking of using silver sharpies for people to sign so the saying stands out a bit more, but if anyone has any opinions on that please share!

Next up is our place cards which I worked on a LOT this past weekend. I originally planned to write on the sand dollars but after a few tries I discovered it just wasn't working so I changed the plan.

I picked up some twine and made some labels on the computer.

I need to buy some more sand so they can stand up nicely but I like the way they are turning out!

In progress, but coming along!

I also went with Tim to check on his suit. So handsome- he made me tear up a little bit when he showed me the custom wording he had done in the suit lining. I can't wait to see him when I walk up the aisle!

Yesterday I kept with the wedding theme and went to Jess' Bridal Shower!

Doreen did such a nice job with the decor- it was gorgeous!

Jess and Kyle are getting married in November and I couldn't be more excited for them!

Jess got a lot of really nice items and it was such a nice group all there to celebrate her.

It was such a fun event and I'm so happy we will be able to celebrate with them in November!

What did you do this past weekend?

My Bridal Shower

On Sunday my mom hosted the most beautiful shower for me! It was at a restaurant in Narragansett called Trio and we had a patio room and a room inside the restaurant dedicated to the event. I entered to find family and friends waiting for me! Most of my bridesmaids showed up ahead of time to help my mom while I hung back with Ally so we could be fashionably late.

Rachel bough a lightbox for the weekend and also brought it to the shower. Our hashtag for all the wedding events is #LifeIsGooding so that was on display for all our guests.

I had some little flower girls running around who helped me rip open a few gifts. They also enjoyed sitting on them!

When I arrived I was given a sash reading "Future Mrs Gooding" and a tiara that said "Bride To Be" and worked my way around the room making sure I spoke to every guest!

Brittni's mom Sue made the most beautiful shadowbox with our wedding invitations, bridal shower invitation and our save the date! It was so sweet and creative!

My mom purchased two donut cakes from Allies Donuts and although I never had a piece I knew they were good because all Allies Donut products are so delicious!

Laura was in charge of creating my bow bouquet and she did an awesome job! It looks amazing and I am so grateful!

I really do have the most amazing bridesmaids! I'm so thankful for them!

Tilly was very interested in giving "besos" which she has learned about at school! So cute!

Another photo of the light board and my bow bouquet!

I get to marry into a family of these Gooding ladies! SO excited!

Me with my future mother in law and my mom! Love them!

The best mom ever who threw me the most amazing shower! She did such a great job- everything was perfect!

And the most amazing MOH who planned the most incredible weekend which you can see in my last post! I'm so lucky I have her! :)

I was so overwhelmed by everyones generosity! We received so many amazing gifts I couldn't have ever imagined I would be so lucky!

I took this sign home with me because it was so beautiful! My mom really outdid herself!

I am so thrilled with how amazing this past weekend was and I am so excited that there are only 66 days until our wedding!!!

Rachel's Bridal Shower!

Yesterday was a beautiful day here and an extremely special day, it was my best friend Rachel's bridal shower! This day had been in the works for months, Rachel's mom, her sisters and I have been planning for it for a long time!

The event took place in Mystic CT at Latitude 41 (which is located at Mystic Seaport) and was set up outside under a tent.

I arrived early (obviously) and hurried around setting up an index card at each place setting. I had each person write down what they thought the recipe to a perfect marriage was and gave them to Rachel on a binder ring when we left the shower.

When we arrived we spent time socializing with everyone, followed by a delicious lunch. There were multiple options for everyone which was great, including a delicious pasta. I cleared my plate of course!

After everyone ate, we played a few games I had planned and then Rachel opened gifts.

I am extremely lucky to have a great group of girls in Rachel's bridal party because when it was time to open gifts, we managed to get it done in 45 minutes! I gave everyone a job and we had quite an assembly line going. There were people collecting trash, organizing gifts, removing cards from envelopes, picking out the next gift, while I was busy writing down all the gifts in a notebook.

After gifts, we spent some time posing for pictures and then eating cupcakes until the party officially ended!

It was a great day with delicious food, amazing company and a beautiful bride-to-be!

I wanted to share a couple of the games I prepared for the shower with you if you are looking for bridal shower party games.

The first game I created was a purse scavenger hunt. I took ideas from several online purse scavenger hunts and pulled 25 items to include on my list.

The second game we played I named "he said, she said"

I asked Rachel and her fiancé Ant five questions each and then took eight quotes from them out of context. This was a great game because they said some pretty mushy-gushy stuff which made it fun to guess who said what!

Of course I handed out prizes to our two winners. I brought two candles as prizes as well as a "mystery bag" where I put a few cosmetic items I've received couponing inside.

I've been waiting to share these details with you guys for such a long time- and I have more wedding-related blog posts in the works as I participate in Rachel's wedding this summer as well as Brittni's wedding this fall. Exciting things are happening around here!

How was your weekend? Did you have any special events?
