30 Days!

Guys.

We are at the 30 day mark until our wedding! Can you believe it?!

Time is flying by around here and now that we are at the 30 day countdown I thought I would share my updated To-Do List.

• Figure out what I'm attaching from Grandma to my bouquet  DONE! I will be attaching a pearl earring of hers onto my bouquet. 

• Buy Rehearsal Dinner Dress- Still haven't attempted this... definitely something I need to get on in the next couple of weeks. 

• Go To My Wedding Dress Fittings- Not done because I've been to one, but I have two more scheduled after that as well.

• Finish Centerpieces- DONE! All boxed and ready to go to The Rotunda!
• Make Ceremony Programs- We decided we do want to do this, now I just need to complete them.
• Make Wedding Signage- DONE! Sitting by the centerpiece boxes and ready to go to The Rotunda!
• Buy Wedding Reception Sandals- DONE! This was as easy as a quick trip to DSW with my mom after my dress fitting. I found sandals I love and my mom got shoes too!
• Finish Bridesmaid Gifts- DONE! All packed and ready to go!
• Gifts For Parents- Still not done. 
• Pick All Music- We are close, only two songs we need to figure out.
• Put Together Bathroom Kits- Still in the same situation as before, I have some of the items but not all so I need to head out and finish these!
• Make Final Payments for Caterer, DJ, Day of Coordinator, Photographer, Videographer, Photobooth and put aside all tip money- a few of these are done which makes me a little less anxious about money! Out caterer payment is due 10 days before, so we have a couple weeks until that is due. I'm just waiting on our day of coordinator to send us an invoice and our videographer is having us pay the day of the wedding. I have about half the tip money put aside so far so I need to finish that up.

• Seating Chart- DONE! 
• Plan Out Day of Timeline- Mostly done, I just need to get answers from a few people. 
• Make Nail Appointments- DONE! We have a 12pm appointment at a cute nail salon!
• Make Escort Cards-  Almost done! Well the cards are actually done- we just need to buy more craft sand for the trays holding them. 
• Get Our Marriage License- Since I started my new job and don't have vacation time to spare right now we will be doing this the Thursday before the wedding. Nothing like last minute right?!
• Figure Out Toasts- We know who gives them, but when?!
• Wedding Gift For Tim-  Halfway done! His present is hiding at my parents house where he can't peek. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm going to get him something else as well.

We are doing pretty well! I'll keep you updated as I finish things during this 30 day countdown!

Current Wedding To Do List

Happy Wednesday!

Today I'm sharing my current wedding to do list. We are in the last two months and are working on the final items.  So here's what I'm working on now:

• Figure out what I'm attaching from Grandma to my bouquet- my Grandma was a huge part of my life until she passed away from breast cancer in 2005. I want to have a piece of her with me on our special day so I will be borrowing a piece of jewelry from my mom to attach to my bouquet- I just need to figure out which piece I will be using.

• Buy Rehearsal Dinner Dress- I have not even attempted to find a rehearsal dinner dress yet...so I need to get shopping for that.

• Go To My Wedding Dress Fittings- I have my first dress fitting scheduled for Labor Day Weekend and I can't wait!

• Finish Centerpieces- I shared in my last post the centerpieces I'm working on and I need to finish them up!

• Make Ceremony Programs??- I'm still deciding if that's something we want to do, but if it is we will have to work on getting those made up

• Make Wedding Signage- I bought a chalkboard easel for a sign that will sit outside our ceremony and I also want signs in our reception so I need to figure out exactly what we are doing.

• Buy Wedding Reception Sandals- I am wearing 3" heels for the wedding ceremony and photos but I need to buy sandals for the reception.

• Finish Bridesmaid Gifts- I am almost completely done with this but still have a little left to do. 

• Gifts For Parents- We have an idea of what we are doing, but haven't finalized this yet.

• Pick All Music- We have to pick songs for everything! I feel so behind on this...

• Put Together Bathroom Kits- I have some of the items but not all so I need to head out and finish these!

• Make Final Payments for Caterer, DJ, Day of Coordinator, Photographer, Videographer, Photobooth and put aside all tip money

• Seating Chart- I can't finish this until I have received all our RSVPs but I'm working on it!

• Plan Out Day of Timeline- I think this will be the most difficult of every item on my list. There are so many pieces to the day that I need to figure out.

• Make Nail Appointments- I plan on getting my nails done on the Friday before the wedding and need to make appointments for me and any of the bridal party that wants to come. I need to call about this but will wait a little bit to do it. 

• Make Escort Cards-  Another item I need to wait a little bit longer on but will take a bit to complete.

• Get Our Marriage License- We are within the timeframe to get our marriage license so we need to head over to the town hall to do this.

• Figure Out Toasts- Who wants to give them, when they are happening, etc...

• Wedding Gift For Tim-  I have ideas...but I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing...

Let's get going and check everything off this list! 

Our Wedding: The Hunt For Bridal Shoes

Happy Monday friends!

I'm stopping by today with a wedding update! I know it's been a hot minute since I've shared anything wedding related with you guys! It's so hard to decide what to share before the wedding versus what to save sharing until afterwards....and I have a whole room full of wedding stuff to share with you guys! I need to take some pictures so I can share that stuff with you guys as well. So much to do! :)

Anyways, today we are talking about shoes-- specifically my wedding ceremony shoes. My plan is to wear a pair of heels for my ceremony and then change into sandals for the reception (because I plan on dancing ALL NIGHT LONG!). One of my ideas was to make my shoes my something blue and I wanted bright blue shoes. Well when you search bright blue heels there was one company that kept popping up over and over again- Badgley Mischka.

Since our ceremony will take place on a cement walkway I can definitely get away with wearing heels for that portion and I *think* I've found the perfect pair...

I will actually get these in the mail today so I'm hoping that they fit great, feel great and look amazing! I will keep you guys updated on whether or not I actually do love them once I try them out. I'm praying they work!

Now I'm on the hunt for wedding sandals...and a million other things! There are so many things to buy when you are having a wedding!

Our Wedding: List Number Two

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I'm sharing the second installment of my wedding to do list. We have conquered everything on list number one and I'm feeling very accomplished! We have finished all the big items so now the list is longer but with less daunting tasks.

Let's get started...

• Order invitations
• Send invitations on August 1st
• Pick bridesmaid dresses done! and almost all the girls have ordered and their dresses have come in!
• Schedule dress fittings done! I go back to Alexandra's Bridal Boutique in September for my fittings.
• Pick hairpiece and jewelry done! During my try-on appointment my stylist helped me pick some beautiful earrings and an absolutely gorgeous hairpiece. So exciting!
• Work on flowers  Even better then done! I have ordered all the silk flower bouquets from afloral.com and they are sitting in my "wedding room" ready to go.
• Buy all things centerpieces (this is almost done- just need to purchase my weight in sand!
• Figure out cake Cake is ordered and paid for!
• Figure out ceremony decorations (if any)
• Plan honeymoon Thanks to my handsome fiancé this is already booked- next March we will be on a cruise to somewhere tropical. 
• Check in with Tim's dad about rehearsal dinner
• Order rehearsal dinner invites
• Plan day after brunch
• Tim's suit-- picked out but he is going at the end of the month to get fitted!
• Groomsmen suits-- all picked out they just need to get in the store to get sized!
• Bathroom kits for wedding
• Hair trial
• Makeup trial Done!
• Buy wedding rings
• Buy undergarments for dress
• Buy wedding shoes
• Buy bridesmaid/groomsmen gifts-- working on this!
• Make table numbers
• Make sand dollar place cards
• Buy stamps
• Buy gifts for parents
• Buy gifts for flower girls/ ring bearers
• Enjoy bridal shower and bachelorette party!

This list is going to take me right up to October! At that point I will be doing last minute items that are on list number three but pretty much everything should be done!

I'm sure I will think of many other things to add as the months go on but right now I'm feeling fairly prepared. We are just under five months out and I'm still chipping away at little things day after day.

Our Wedding: List Number One

Today I'm sharing a bit of wedding organization with you guys! We really hit the ground running since we are planning a wedding in eight months- we have less then seven months to go so I thought I would share how I'm organizing all my planning.

I decided to make three lists to split up my wedding tasks. The first list I am planning to complete before May, the second must be completed by the end of August and the third is the final list to be completed by our wedding day.  Today I want to share what was on list number one and what we've already completed, I will be sharing my next two lists in the upcoming months as well- don't worry I'm taking you along for every step of this journey!

Wedding To Do List #1

• Go to bridal expo  We really enjoyed this! It gave us quite a few ideas and we got a ton of free stuff! To see our day at the wedding expo you can check that out here.
• make bridesmaid proposal gifts and give them out  You can see my bridesmaid proposals here!
• meet and hire photographer We hired Carissa from Ella Grace Photography and are THRILLED with our decision- she is fantastic!
• meet with Peggy at The Rotunda We met up with Peggy one Saturday to view the inside. She was great and gave us some great insight on using the floor plan!
• make appointment at Davids Bridal I made an appointment for April 14th and I can't wait to spend quality time with Rachel and my mom trying on dresses
• engagement shoot We had the best time working with Carissa even though it was freezing on this day!
• insure ring this was super easy to do- I signed up through Jewelers Mutual and it was much cheaper then I thought and certainly gives me peace of mind!
• get ring resized again, super easy to do and I was just putting it off because I didn't want to give up my ring. I went to Simply Majestic and had a great experience- it was done so quickly!
• create wedding website I just used the free website TheKnot does and have started to put our information on there
• book Kayla for hair- I briefly spoke to her about this but want to make sure she is completely booked for my day! I actually will see her later today and plan on checking with her then
• book Laura for makeup I checked with Laura and we will be setting up my trial soon!
• book hotel for wedding night- Tim is currently working on this!
• block hotel rooms for guests done! The credit for this goes all to Tim- he has been dealing with the hotels which has been so helpful!
• book caterer Once again, the credit for this goes to Tim! I did put the deposit down for this and went with Tim to drop off the contract- so it was a team effort!
• order save the dates and get them mailed out- We are waiting for our pictures to come back and then this will get checked off- hopefully in the next couple of weeks!
• book videographer My brothers best friend will be our videographer for our wedding day! I'm happy to have someone we trust and know well to do this important task! 
• book DJ Another point for Tim- he's the one who contacted Dr Graeme and booked him. 
• register for gifts we have three registries going right now and although we will be revisiting them in the future to add I'm sure I'm counting this as done!

We've had a very busy first month planning and have almost this entire list crossed off! In a few weeks I'll share list number 2 as I start to work on that next!
